Firefox 3!

I’m very very happy to see that the old Netscape tradition of coding in goofy about: pages is alive and well.

Sadly, about:jwz hasn’t been put back in.

Celtics.

It is difficult to express the awesomeness here, but I’m going to try.

I just watched the Celtics beat the Lakers by 39 points to clinch the NBA championship, alongside one of my best friends and by far my best basketball friend, Mr. Corey B., and we did it at the only bar in Allston that I like.

I have known Corey for a good 11 or 12 years, and the Celtics have sucked our butts the whole time, with the exception of 2002 where they still weren’t really all that good but somehow advanced to the conference finals anyway. The two of us have watched so many bad games together that it pains me to contemplate how many.

It is only fitting that we watched the final victory together.

Also, while I am ecstatic for every one of the players and staff, I actually cried a little bit when Paul Pierce received the Finals MVP trophy. No one deserves it more than he does, having endured 10 years here in Boston having to carry some truly awful teams and getting stabbed 11 times. Paul Pierce is going to send the number 34 to permanent rest hanging above the court at the Garden. The Celtics are nothing without Paul Pierce, and Paul Pierce is nothing without the Celtics.

But seriously, to see the looks on the faces of Pierce and Garnett, and to see Pierce with that trophy, and to see Garnett hug Bill Russell, and to see Pierce pour the Gatorade all over Doc… all of it, the whole game, the whole night… absolutely awesome.

Teach the Controversy

Because we know that the earth sits on giant elephants which in turn ride an even gianter turtle

Fairly awesome, beautifully designed t-shirts which illustrate other important “controversies” to be taught in school besides creationism. Satire at its finest. [via Boing Boing]

Also, additional shirts from the same creator are available at Amorphia Apparel. Similar artistic style throughout most of it, just not grouped in a 9-part series.

Carbonated Soft Drinks

I haven’t updated in a while. I guess I just haven’t been feeling (we)blogified, or verbose, or something.

Anyway, I decided yesterday to stop drinking pop.

I know, I’ve said about 6 different times that I was going to stop. Some instances have been more effective than others. Hopefully this will be the most effective.

So, the count is now at one day.
