Lovecraft

Selections From H.P. Lovecraft’s Brief Tenure as a Whitman’s Sampler Copywriter
Haaaaahaha.
Caramel Chew
There is a dimension ruled by a blind caramel God-King who sits on a vast, cyclopean milk-chocolate throne while his mindless, gooey followers dance to the piping of crazed flutes. It is said that there are gateways in our world that lead to this [...]

[Today's Big Thing]
I want to know what camera did this. Wow.
“It looks like footage from the most epic heavy metal music video of all time.”

The Girl in the Window

This story of a 9-year old girl and her “most outrageous case of neglect” is one of the most gutwrenching things I’ve ever read or heard. I honestly cannot come up with a word to describe it.
There’s a collection of audio and video clips to go along with it, and I highly recommend them.

Discovered via Dan and Kim, a process to make a random album cover, complete with random band name, random title, and random artwork. It goes like this:

Teach the Controversy

Fairly awesome, beautifully designed t-shirts which illustrate other important “controversies” to be taught in school besides creationism. Satire at its finest. [via Boing Boing]
Also, additional shirts from the same creator are available at Amorphia Apparel. Similar artistic style throughout most of it, just not grouped in a 9-part series.

The consume®econnection Project

Scott Ballum has begun quite an interesting undertaking. “The Mission: A year-long effort to meet the laborers and craftsmen who build what I buy – and put a human face on consumption.”
Now that is a project. He even went to Loretto, KY to visit the Maker’s Mark distillery.
Unfortunately, the weblog seems to be [...]
