Ron Paul is my homie

Ron taped a video that’s on youtube regarding the passage of the new “improved” bailout bill. Seeing as I think I agree with him entirely on every economic issue I’ve ever heard him talk about, I enjoyed hearing these thoughts from an actual Congressman very much.

A Brief Comment on the “Bailout”

Frankly, no one should be bailed out from anything. Companies who willingly committed fraud in screwing up our economy should not only not receive any taxpayer bailout money, but should be prosecuted and imprisoned. Debtors who willingly entered into mortgages and loans they could not afford to pay off should be allowed to [...]

Bless the Internet

Sometimes, I don’t know what I would do without the internet.
Case in point: CNN.com has a “story” that’s mostly just summarizing the opinions of some site commenters regarding the insipid and criminal proposed federal investment bank bailout plan, answering the question “what would you do with $700B?”
I needed only to read this response to the [...]

Blurb in the Phoenix

My band, The Woodrow Wilsons, got mentioned in today’s Boston Phoenix. We’re playing next week (monday to be specific) at Band in Boston’s residency at PA’s Lounge in Somerville, and we got a mention in association with that.
WHEE!

Rejoice and Be Gay

Massachusetts finally got its act together about something and repealed that law from 1913 that prohibited couples from marrying in the Commonwealth if their union would not be legal in their home state. (Though I gotta tell ya, I’m curious who those 36 assholes are who voted against.) This law was originally intended to [...]

NASA

President Eisenhower signed the National Aeronautics and Space Act into law on July 29, 1958, thereby creating NASA.
Happy 50th, NASA!

Fannie Mae Bailout

Let it be known that the government bailing out Fannie Mae is utter bullshit. The employees and executives at Fannie Mae doctor their books and even then can’t run a business properly (someone gave out a lot more money in mortgages than they should have been). Other companies in their situation are left [...]

In Wiener Veritas

The Wieners Circle, the hot dog stand around the corner from the hotel we stayed at in Chicago a few weeks ago, was apparently featured on the TV version of This American Life last year. Check it: clicky link

Ketchup

It’s been a little while, I know. I spent a weekend in Maine recording with my band, and I went on vacation in the Midwest to visit my family and knock four more Major League Baseball parks off my list, including Wrigley Field which it has been my dream to visit since I was [...]
