Massachusetts: Ripping Everyone Else Off

The Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism has unveiled its new marketing slogan designed to woo vacationers from the four corners of the world to the fantastic Commonwealth: “It’s All Here“.

If you’re experiencing a sense that you’ve heard that phrase before, well, it’s because you have. Probably often, in fact; it was a tagline that accompanied Bud Light ads that was unveiled during a Super Bowl XXXVIII commercial. I recognized it instantly since I had heard it about 6.02×10^23 times during the 2004 Boston Cannons season as Bud Light advertises heavily with the MLL and I sit next to the PA announcer during games. Also, the ads were very common on MBTA trains; I recall entire 6-car Orange Line trains with nothing but “Bud Light: It’s All Here” ads. While I can understand that not all that many people have gone to a professional lacrosse game, I find it hard to believe that no one from the Office of Travel and Tourism has ever watched television or ridden the T.

So, Our Fair Commonwealth, I ask you: couldn’t you actually write something yourselves instead of blatantly stealing from a massive corporation?
