If you’re into maps, like I am, and also history, which I am to a lesser extent, then you’ll probably like this collection posted at Radical Cartography: scans of the very first Statistical Atlas of the United States based on the Results of the Ninth Census 1870.
The images are actually pulled from the Library of Congress, but presented in a better fashion at the Radical Cartography site, and there’s also a link to download a zip file of the whole shebang.
Incredible stuff.
